Importing a Viber chat
How to bring a client's existing Viber chat into the contact's timeline from the file Viber exports, with the original dates and without duplicates.
Most of your client conversations already happened on Viber, on your own phone. Viber can export a chat to a file, and Avensa can read that file and put every message on the contact's timeline with its original date and time.
This is not the Viber bot
SettingsIntegrationsViber connects an agency Viber bot. It only records messages clients send to that bot. Importing a chat brings in the conversations you already had on your phone.
Export the chat from Viber
Open the export in Viber
On your phone, open Viber, go to More › Settings › Calls and messages and choose Email message history. Some Viber versions also let you export a single chat from the chat's own menu.
Save the file
Viber sends you a ZIP, CSV or text file. Save it on the computer you use for Avensa.
Import it onto the contact
Open the contact
Open the client's contact and go to the Activity tab.
Start the import
In New activity, pick Message and click Import Viber chat.
Choose the file
Click Choose the chat file and pick the file from Viber. If the ZIP holds several chats, pick the one with this client.
Check what will be imported
Avensa shows how many messages it found and the dates they cover. Under Which sender is you?, pick yourself, so your messages show as sent and the client's as received.
Import
Click Import. The messages appear on the timeline under Messages, at the time they were sent.
Uploading the same chat again is safe
